Anything combining chocolate, golden syrup and rice krispies is bound to be popular with children! These are also really quick and easy to make using store cupboard ingredients. Why not try making them with milky ways or fudge fingers instead of mars bars?
Ingredients:
50g butter
125g Mars bars, roughly chopped
1 tbsp golden syrup
150g rice krispies
200g milk chocolate
Place the butter, mars bars and golden syrup in a small bowl and melt stirring all the time, over a pan of just boiled water or in a microwave. Stir until the mixture is smooth. Then add the rice krispies and combine until well coated. Spoon into a 10x24 cm lined loaf tin. Press down well and refrigerate until firm and set.
Meanwhile melt the milk chocolate. Pour over the cooled krispie mixture and smooth over the top. Chill for a further 20min. Cut into squares or bars when cold.
